I. TOTAL DEPRAVITY

Q. What Is God?

A. God is a Spirit, infinite, unlimited, eternal and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth. (John 4:24; Psalms 147:5; Psalm 90:2; James 1:17; I Timothy 1:17)

Q. How Many Persons Are There in the Godhead?

A. There are three persons in the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: And These three are one God, the same in essence, equal in power and glory. (I John 5:7; I Cor. 8:6; John 10:30; John 14:9; Acts 5:3,4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Q. How Did God Create Man?

A. God created man male and female, after His own image, in knowledge, righteousness and holiness and with dominion over the creatures. ( Gen.1:27; Col. 3:10; Eph. 4:24; Gen. 1:28)

Q. What Covenant Did God Make With Man in the Estate of Creation?

A. When God had created man, he entered into a covenant of works with him, upon condition of perfect obedience, forbidding him to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, upon pain of death. (Gen.2:16,17; Gal.2:12; Rom. 5:12)

Q. Did Our First Parents Continue in the Estate Wherein They Were Created?

A. Our first parents, being left to the freedom of their own will, fell from that estate God had created them in by sinning against God. ( Gen. 3:6; Ecc. 7:29; Romans 5:12)

Q. What Is Sin?

A. Sin is any lack of conformity to, or transgression of, the Law of God. (I John 3:4; Romans 5:13)

Q. What Was the Sin of Our First Parents Causing Them to Fall?

A. The sin of our first parents causing the fall was their eating the forbidden fruit. (Gen. 3:6,12,13)

Q. Did All Mankind Fall in Adam's First Transgression?

A. The covenant made with Adam was not only for himself, but also for his posterity, all mankind. Therefore, all mankind descending from him, sinned in him, and fell with him in his transgression. (I Cor. 15:21,22; Romans 5:12,18,19)

II. UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION

Q. Did God Leave All Mankind to Perish in the Condition of Sin and Misery?

A. NO. God, out of His good pleasure from all eternity, chose a people to everlasting life. He then entered into a covenant of grace with them to deliver then out of the condition of sin and misery and to bring then into a condition of salvation by a Redeemer. (Eph. 1:3,4; II Thess. 2:13; John 15:16; I Tim. 1:9)

Q. Who is the Redeemer of God's Elect?

A. The only Redeemer of God's elect is Jesus Christ the Lord. (Gal. 3:13; I Tim. 2:5; I Tim. 3:16)

Q. Who Can Come Unto God and Enjoy His Salvation?

A. None but those chosen by God, given to the Son and redeemed by Him. (John 6:44)

Q. Why Can the Natural Man Not Come to Jesus?

A. Spiritual things are foolishness to him (I Cor. 2:14). He has no will to seek after God (John 5:40-42). He loves the darkness of sin more than the light of Righteousness (John 3:19-20)
